Dr. Richard K. Mugambe (PhD) is currently an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Disease Control and Environmental Health. He holds a PhD in Global Health from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland (2014), a Masters in Environmental Sciences and technology from Wageningen University, the Netherlands (2007) and a Bachelors degree in Environmental Health from Makerere University (2003).
Richard has been involved in teaching and research at the School of Public Health for over 10 years. His research areas are: water and sanitation (especially for vulnerable groups of people and for healthcare facilities); food safety, waste management and environmental monitoring. His recent work on water and sanitation for vulnerable groups includes a publication: Access to and perceptions towards water, sanitation and hygiene: a case of HIV/AIDS affected and non-affected households in rural Uganda.
